At Sage Mountain Wealth Management, our core business offering is Investment Management along with Financial Planning. In order to care for your investments, we first need to get to know each other. It is important that we understand things like your risk tolerance, income requirements, performance goals, and specific needs for cash disbursements in the future.
We then make customized portfolio recommendations, execute the strategy, and review it often to make sure it is still in line with your expectations. We typically diversify clients’ portfolios among low-cost index funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and where the portfolio size allows, potentially individual stock or bond holdings. Generally, we invest for the long term which helps reduce trading and other costs thereby helping to maximize your returns.
From an early age, Aaron gravitated to numbers, details and planning. One of his first career aspirations was to become a teacher. He possesses a strong desire to help people and break down concepts in an easy to understand way.
After obtaining his MBA degree at California State University, Fullerton, Aaron spent over a decade working in accounting and finance. Since December 2013, he has served as the Chief Financial Officer for My Day Counts. The company is a $10 million nonprofit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities.
Combining his work experience and passion for investing, Aaron decided to take the Series 65 Exam and become a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA). His job as a CFO constantly requires that he assesses business decisions for their financial feasibility and profitability. As an investment advisor, he applies those same skills as he works with clients to help them plan and invest confidently for their future.
He and his wife have one daughter and enjoy their days living the country life a short drive outside of Boise, Idaho. Aaron enjoys taking care of the chickens and goats on the family farm. He is a man of faith and attends church weekly with his family.
We are an independent Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) firm. Being independent benefits you because we are not tied to any particular family of funds or investment products. This allows us greater flexibility to serve you and the freedom to choose from a wide variety of investment options. As a fiduciary, we put a client's best interests ahead of our own.
As a fee-only investment advisor, we do not earn commissions for selling you products. Our fee is strictly based on the assets we manage. This helps minimize conflicts of interest and allows for a more transparent pricing structure.
You get direct access to your advisor instead of communicating with a secretary or calling into a service center. This allows us to provide service that is responsive, attentive, and personal. At the end of the day in this line of work, you need to be able to trust the person managing your investments and we hope to earn that trust.
A fiduciary is an individual or organization that has taken on the responsibility of acting on behalf of another person or entity with honesty and integrity. It means that they must act in the best interest of clients and avoid conflicts of interest concerning products and services offered. It requires one to act in good faith and provide all relevant facts to clients. This helps to build trust in a client-advisor relationship.
A fee-only advisor is paid a set rate for the services they provide, generally based on assets under management (AUM). In contrast, fee-based advisors get paid by commission on the products they sell or trade and often times have revenue sharing arrangements with mutual fund companies. Because fee-based advisors are not held to the fiduciary standard, they may recommend investment products that better suit their financial benefit instead of yours. A major benefit to a fee-only advisor is a more transparent pricing structure.
We work with individuals, high net worth individuals, and small businesses. We are also available to provide advisory services to retirement plans and private foundations. Our minimum asset level for each client is $25,000. We offer a free consultation where we will walk through your financial situation in more detail that will help us determine whether or not we can help you.
Aaron works out of his home office located a short drive from Boise, Idaho. If you are in the Boise area, we can meet locally at your home or coffee shop - wherever you are most comfortable. If you are outside the Boise area, we can set up meetings over Zoom. Aaron is available weekday evenings and weekends to accommodate your schedule if necessary.
Our first meeting can vary depending on the situation. We want to make sure we take the time to get to know each other. We will talk about your financial goals so that Aaron can get a better understanding of what you want to achieve. If there's anything you need to prepare or bring, we will let you know ahead of time.
Accounts are billed on a tiered schedule that is based on assets under management (AUM). Fees start at 1.00% for the first $1 million, and decrease for amounts above.
